It is my great pleasure to welcome you to my official web site. Since March 26, 2002, I am proud to represent, in the Senate of Canada, the senatorial division of Montarville, province of Quebec. I consider it a great honour and a privilege to serve as a senator.

Canadians are often unaware of the role and the work of senators. This web site will provide you with information about my activities and those of the Senate of Canada. Can we live on a healthy planet, without pollution? Yes, of course! Everyone is dreaming about it now, but we have to wake up and see to it that, tragic and destructive circumstances for air and water quality, be immediately taken in charge by the competent authorities.

In 1993, Raymond Lavigne founded an association for the monorail on the Champlain Bridge’s ice control structure, with the objective of reducing the greenhouse gases as well as addressing the traffic on Champlain Bridge. This project is an important driving force for the socio-economic development and it is also a project that is very dear to my heart and I will never give it up.

For the past 15 years, Raymond Lavigne have been interested in the development of the St-Lawrence River shoreline in the Autoroute Bonaventure and Cité du Havre corridor. This is another project I watche very closely. All the regions crossed by it are taking advantage of its popularity since it represents a first class tourist attraction.
